The Asian American Journalists Association — Los Angeles chapter is honored to welcome Emilie Takahashi to the board.
Takahashi applied for the position and was selected for her dedication to AAJA. The UC Irvine student started a chapter at the school after being chosen for an AAJA-LA funded internship in 2025.
While student board members do not have a vote, they are expected to attend board meetings. The voices of student journalists are important to AAJA-LA, and the student board members will bring those voices to the forefront.
Board members Sam Masunaga, Mallory Cara and Maneeza Iqbal were part of the student board member selection committee. Thank you to them for their time and thoughtful consideration into this process.
